Meet Emelie!

Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

"I'm dreamy. I like to travel to my very own imaginary world full of magical creatures. It’s always funny when I forget what’s really going on around me.”

What about your interests?

“I love animals and like to imagine being one myself. My favorite daydream is living a day as a little pink fuzzy cat!"

About Dreaminess...

Most of us know how important it is to dream a little bit. To think outside the box and use our imagination. We see a dreamy child as someone who is extra good at this. Particularly through imaginative play, children get to manipulate materials, test different roles, act and express themselves both verbally and non-verbally. Play helps children to learn about the world. At best, creativity supports social-emotional development by allowing children to create different solutions or putting themselves in another person’s position. This can help boost their confidence and empathy, which can be used when interacting with others.

Our Cutie, Emelie, is just that individual who drifts off in thoughts and comes up with exciting, new play ideas for her friends. She’s really fond of animals and is good at imitating different kinds of creatures. There’s definitely no chance of the other Cuties getting bored around her!

Is your child or someone you know dreamy like Emelie? How does your child use their imagination?

We look forward to exploring more about this topic together with Emelie later during the year. Stay tuned!
