Follow our Tree Planting in Haiti
Reforestation is a major challenge for Haiti. Centuries of over-farming and poor agricultural methods have destroyed the region’s soil. Erosion makes it very difficult to grow food, and dramatically increases the impact of natural disasters.
Over 70% of Haiti’s annual energy comes from wood-based fuels, creating a serious threat to air quality.
By planting trees and learning proper environmental practices, Haitian farmers can grow more food, combat climate change, and lift themselves out of poverty.

Why plant trees?

Local farmers are taught how to use their land sustainably and profitably, while contributing to much needed reforestation.

Trees help to improve the health of soil by protecting it from wind and rain while absorbing water.

Strategic tree planting allows farmers to protect and nourish their land, increasing sustainable food production.
